Seth's focus

Seth Bloom is a partner in our markets and trading practice group based in our New York office. Seth advises clients on all types of trading documentation, including ISDA Master Agreements, futures and clearing agreements, repurchase agreements, securities lending agreements, and prime brokerage agreements.

In particular, Seth reviews and negotiates all types of derivatives transactions in all markets, including equity derivatives, commodity derivatives, foreign exchange derivatives, interest rate derivatives and total return swaps. He is particularly concentrated on all categories of equity derivatives including swaps, options, vanilla volatility swaps and variance swaps, and exotic volatility products such as correlation swaps, conditional variance swaps, dispersion volatility swaps and options on variance. Whether it is a vanilla option or an emerging markets sovereign bond total return swap, Seth works with clients to ensure that the documentation governing trades reflects the buy-side’s best practices and that clients understand the market, credit and operational risks that each trade type presents.

Seth is also focused on futures and cleared over-the-counter swaps documentation in the United States and Europe, and assists clients with opening trading accounts for equities and futures in international markets such as China, India, Saudia Arabia and Brazil.

Prior to joining the firm April 2010, Seth was a manager and member of the Hedge Fund Documentation Team at Bank of America negotiating ISDA Master Agreements with the bank’s hedge fund customers. Prior to joining Bank of America, Seth worked at Bear Stearns, negotiating ISDA Master Agreements and prime brokerage documents, as well as supporting the credit default swaps and structured products trading desks.
