Jeffrey A Jones is a partner in our Greensboro, North Carolina office. His practice focuses on private investment fund formation, structuring and operation, including the representation of private equity, hedge fund and fund of funds managers. He advises both onshore and offshore fund clients with respect to a variety of regulatory and compliance matters, and has significant experience regarding the application of the Advisers Act to private investment fund managers. Jeff also represents investors and managers in seed investment transactions, advises fund of funds, family offices and private investors with respect to alternative investment opportunities and regularly assists overseas managers with day-to-day operational matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeff served as director of business and legal affairs for a technology start-up, co-founded a business information firm based in Slovakia targeting foreign direct investors in Eastern Europe, and practiced commercial litigation at Hebb & Gitlin in Hartford, Connecticut.
Jeff has a J.D. from Georgetown University (1992), where he was a member of the Law and Policy in International Business law review. Prior to that, he received a B.S., cum laude, from Trinity University (1986).
